Our Mission

Driven by a simple philosophy that all animals should be treated with compassion and respect, our mission is two-fold. At the core is our hands-on work of rescuing, rehabilitating and caring for farmed animals from cruelty, abuse and neglect. We are also committed to education. We passionately believe knowledge is the power to change the way our society views and treats farmed animals.

Rescue

We rescue farmed animals from cruelty, abuse and neglect. The animals enjoy 100 acres of open pasture, receive emergency and long-

term care, enjoy human and animal companionship and are forever safe from exploitation. They are free to be themselves and live the life every farmed animal deserves – free from harm and suffering.

Educate

Visitors to the sanctuary can come face-to-face with the animals, most only know as food. Here you can give a belly rub to a pig, hug a friendly

cow or get nuzzled by sheep. You will see their individuality, their joy of life, intelligence and strong family bonds. Visitors, for the first time, get to see that farmed animals are no different to the cats and dogs that share our homes.

Inspire

Our animals are ambassadors for the millions of farmed animals who have no voice. Their unique, individual stories raise awareness of

their sentience and highlight the suffering that continues unabated in animal agricultural industries. We hope their stories will inspire change in the roles we play, and can play, in the lives of farmed animals.

EMERGENCY FUND APPEAL – COVID19

Dear WPF friends. We are navigating in unchartered territory with Covid-19. We aren’t sure if our supply chain will be disrupted in coming weeks/months and are working to ensure we have at least one month’s extra supply of feed, bedding and medical supplies on hand at all times for the 126 rescue residents that call Where Pigs Fly home. This involves significant and unexpected extra costs as we stock up on essential supplies ahead of a potential shutdown. Essentials include straw bales and wood shavings for bedding as well as all the animal feed and medical supplies needed to keep the sanctuary’s rescue pigs, ducks, sheep, goats, cows, donkeys, horses, hens, turkeys and alpacas healthy and happy.
