Rescued November 2014
Abigail was rescued from an intensive battery shed. Debeaked, no feathers and very thin, she had clearly suffered from the appalling living conditions she was kept in. Arriving at the sanctuary, Abigail took quickly to her new surroundings – free at last from the intensely crowded wire “battery cages” where she had languished. Despite her horrific start to life, Abigail has an amazing strength and wonderful spirit. She clearly enjoys the sky, the sun and the freedom to roam as she pleases – free from the pain and exploitation she once knew.
