Victoria is the innocent victim of a school chicken-hatching project. Along with thousands of chickens every year, her life was trivialised as teaching aid rather than a living being that needed a lifetime of care and commitment. After the hatching programme was over, the school, as is always the case, needed to dispose of the chicks quickly. Victoria was rehomed to a student on an emotional whim and without due consideration to the many responsibilities that go into caring for a living creature. Fast forward a few months and, predictably, the family’s interest in Victoria waned. She was no longer wanted or needed and faced an uncertain fate. Fortunately for Victoria, she found a forever, loving home at Where Pigs Fly Farm Sanctuary with her friends. She is one of the lucky ones.
