We are so excited to share the news that we have been selected as one of the recipients of a community grant from Australian Ethical Foundation. Their $20, 000 contribution will help us build a large hay barn at the sanctuary, allowing us to store hay and animal feed in bulk. This means the sanctuary can order enough hay to see us through the drought and we will also be able to grow and store our food here in the future, cutting costs significantly.
We’re currently in 100% drought and that’s seen the cost of our food go up to $5,000 – $6,000 every month. This community grant is absolutely amazing for us and we’re so grateful to Australian Ethical for the opportunity to build a barn that will make a difference to so many animals’ lives. We thank them for their generosity and a big thank you to all our supporters who voted and continue to work with us toward a better world for all animals.
